DENTAL OFFICE SAFETY PROTOCOL – McKinney, TX

Our Commitment to Your Safety and Health

These are unprecedented times that have resulted in significant change in how we as a society and community go about our daily lives. However, at Sprout Dentistry for Kids, our devotion and commitment to the safety and overall health of your family and our team remains unchanged as our TOP PRIORITY.

On top of our stringent universal disinfection and sterilization procedures in our office, we have also implemented the following additional actions to ensure your visit to our office is the safest experience possible. These actions are incremental to our normal standards of care that meet or exceed all Center for Disease Control (CDC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and American Dental Association (ADA) guidelines for dental practices.

Our goal is to add transparency and peace-of-mind to the friendliness and clinical excellence that you have come to expect. This is an on-going commitment that will continue to evolve with the recommendations as necessary. As always, we welcome the opportunity to answer any of your questions and to address all of your concerns.

Advanced Staff Training

Each member of our team has completed additional awareness and prevention programs to enhance their knowledge and preparedness.

Safety Champion

Our team members have been trained to guide you in our Commitment to Safety. This includes greeting families, answering questions, ensuring social distancing, and overall monitoring.

Daily Health Checks of Our Team

No-contact temperature checks and set of questions will ensure our team is ready, willing and able to provide safe dental care – every day.

No Handshakes or Hugs

We truly do love our patients. However, we will have to stick with Air High-Fives until things are “back to normal”.

Personal Hygiene Standards

Along with short hair or hair that is worn up, this means no long fingernails, no jewelry and no watches for any team member while in the office.

Change Work Clothes at Work

We change into and out of our newly-cleaned scrubs at the office, every day.

Virtual Waiting Room

We send patient forms electronically, so that you can complete them in advance of your visit. We ask that you notify us from your car via text or phone upon arrival so that we may minimize contact with others, bypass the reception, and go directly to your designated room.

No Patient Gloves Allowed

Minimizing cross-contamination is an important part of our plan. We will ask you to dispose of any outside gloves before you enter.

Sequenced Patient Scheduling

Plain and simple, we are not seeing as many patients. We are allocating more time between visits for coming, going, and cleaning. We ask that you please notify us as soon as possible if you are running early, late, or cannot make your appointment as this affects other families as well.

Pre-Screening of Every Patient

A quick health questionnaire and consent form along with a no-touch temperature check will be completed when you arrive at our office.

Family Friendly Scheduling

We are able to see up to 3 family members during the same visit. It is almost like your own, private dental experience.

Virtual Consultation

Some consultations and follow-up visits can be handled via secure teleconference. It is a cool, ultra-safe, and efficient extension of our office.

Hospital-Grade Hand Sanitizing Station

Every patient will be asked to thoroughly disinfect their hands upon entry into our office. These stations are also strategically placed to always be accessible to our staff as well.

Social Distancing in Place

Fewer chairs in our reception, helpful signs in place as reminders to make 6’ spacing a practical reality.

Cleaning After Every Appointment

We are super clean as we thoroughly wipe, sanitize, and disinfect all instruments, equipment, and surfaces in each operatory after every patient.

Deep Cleaning Every Evening

Along with cleaning and sanitizing during the day, we take things to another level at night with a thorough top-to-bottom scrub down.

CDC-Approved Instrument Sterilization

This is standard precaution at all times, and nothing has changed. Anything goes near your child’s mouth is sterilized between every use.

Masks

The beautiful smiles of our clinical team – dentists, assistants, and administrative team – will be protected behind masks at all times.

Face Shields

Our doctors and assistants will also protect you and themselves through the use of face shields as an extra layer of precaution during treatment.

Disposable, Protective Coats & Hats

When appropriate, our team will utilize another layer of protection to minimize the spread or absorption of airborne particles.

UV Smartphone Box

This cool contraption allows us to kill 99.99% of bacteria and viruses on the iPads used in our office. Every device gets a time-out for cleansing in this box between each family.

Advanced Chairside Suction

Whenever possible we will active high-speed evacuation to minimize aerosol contamination and improve air quality.

Air Filtration

We have upgraded the air filters to our HVAC System.
